Help local customers find your business on Google

How can a local business improve its visibility on Google?

Make it easy for nearby customers — and search systems — to understand who you are, where you are and when you are open. For local businesses such as salons, restaurants, clinics and repair services, that starts with consistent contact details, accurate opening hours, a clear location and a well-maintained Google Business Profile.

These steps can improve the quality and consistency of your local presence, but they do not guarantee a particular position in Google Search or Maps.

1. Keep your contact details consistent

Use the same business name, address and phone number across your website, Google Business Profile and other important listings. Consistency helps customers avoid conflicting information and gives search systems clearer business data to work with.

Set the website details under Settings → Website → Contact. If your footer has separate contact fields, check those too so the public information matches.

2. Publish accurate opening hours

Add an Opening hours block to the Contact page or another relevant location page. It can show your weekly schedule, exceptions and a live open-or-closed status.

When the block's structured-data option is enabled, Demona can also expose local-business information such as opening hours and contact details in machine-readable form. That helps compatible search systems interpret the page, but it does not guarantee a specific search-result treatment.

3. Add a map and real customer reviews

Ask satisfied customers for genuine reviews in line with Google's policies. Do not create or rewrite customer reviews yourself.

Your Google Business Profile is separate from your website, but it is central to local visibility on Google. Keep the profile accurate, include your website address, and make sure important business details match what visitors see on the site. Search and Maps results are ultimately controlled by Google, not by Demona.

4. Use location wording where it is genuinely useful

Include your city, neighbourhood or service area where it naturally helps someone understand the page — for example in a homepage heading, service-page title or meta description. “Hair salon in Cambridge” is useful when the location is part of the offer; repeating the same place name unnaturally throughout the page is not.

Edit page-specific search titles and descriptions under Page settings. Write for people first: clear, accurate location information is more useful than keyword repetition.
