Opening hours block

What is the Opening hours block for?

Visitors should not have to call just to find out whether you are open. The Opening hours block keeps your weekly schedule, holidays and other exceptions in one place, and can show a live open-or-closed status. It is useful for shops, cafés, clinics, salons, repair services and any other business people visit in person.

The opening hours can also be exposed to search engines as structured data, which helps them understand your local business information. The block's Structured data for Google switch controls this and is enabled by default. Turn it off for examples, demos or opening hours that do not belong to the website's business. It is disabled on this page because the café below is fictional.

Example: opening hours for a café

The block below shows a fictional café, not Demona support hours. It deliberately includes several patterns: closed on Monday and Sunday, one opening period from Tuesday to Thursday, and two periods with a break on Friday and Saturday. Upcoming holidays are added as exceptions.

Notice how today is highlighted, while the “Open now” or “Closed now” status above it also tells visitors when the business next closes or opens.

On Saturdays, the kitchen accepts orders until 12:00.

Only publish real opening hours. When AI creates a website, Demona deliberately leaves opening hours empty rather than inventing them: a made-up time can send a customer to a locked door. Until you fill the block in, it stays hidden on the public site. If a particular day has no value, visitors see “Not specified”, not “Closed” — those are two different statements.

Fill in the weekly schedule

  • Opening and closing: enter a time for each day, for example 09:00 and 17:00.
  • Break: add a second opening period for the same day, for example 09:00–12:00 and 14:00–18:00.
  • Closed: use this when the business is not open that day.
  • Copy to Tue–Fri: the action on Monday copies Monday's hours across Tuesday to Friday.
  • Until midnight: if you close at midnight, enter 24:00 as the closing time.

Special days: holidays, stocktakes and longer opening hours

Under Special days, you can override the normal weekly schedule for a specific date: close for the day, or use different hours. Give each exception a label such as “Christmas Eve” or “Stocktake”. Visitors only see today's and future exceptions. Past ones disappear automatically from the public page, but remain in the editor until you delete them.

What can you configure in the Opening hours block?

Alongside the weekly schedule, you control exceptions, live status and contact information.

Weekly opening hours

Opening and closing times for each day, with an optional second period for a break, or a Closed state.

Special days

Date-specific closures or alternative opening times, each with its own label.

“Open now / Closed” status

Optional. Shows whether the place is currently open and when it next closes or opens.

Time zone

Budapest by default. The live open-or-closed status is calculated in this time zone, so it stays correct for visitors in other countries.

Address, phone and email →

Optional. Pulled from Settings → Website → Contact so the same details can stay consistent across the site.

Heading, subheading and note

Add your own heading and short introduction, plus a note such as “Saturdays by appointment”.

Two locations, two schedules

Opening hours belong to the block itself, not to a site-wide setting. If you have two shops, or a terrace with different hours from the main café, add two Opening hours blocks and give each one its own heading. The address, phone and email, however, always come from the Contact settings. For the second location, turn off Show address, phone and e-mail and put that location's address in the subheading or note instead.
