Google reviews block

What is the Google reviews block for?

Trust from an external source. The Google reviews block differs from a testimonial you publish yourself because the feedback comes from a third-party platform. Visitors can immediately see where the review originated.

Keep the source clear. Do not copy a Google review into your own testimonial section in a way that makes it look like a direct recommendation you collected yourself. This documentation also does not invent five-star examples: a live example is only credible once a real Google location or approved review widget is connected.

Two ways to use the block

Native mode connects to a location using your own Google Places API key. Enter a Place ID, Google Maps URL or place name; the block can retrieve the summary and up to five live reviews, then display them in your website's own design.

Widget mode accepts third-party embed code from services such as Trustindex, Elfsight or EmbedSocial. The widget runs in a sandboxed iframe with its own height and alignment settings.

What can you configure in the Google reviews block?

Native and widget mode use different sources, so they need different settings.

Native Google location →

Connect by Place ID, Maps URL or place name. Native mode needs your own Google Places API key, configured under Settings → System → Integrations.

Summary

Show or hide the place name, average rating and total review count independently.

Up to five live reviews

Set a maximum from 0 to 5. Google Places itself returns at most five reviews through this flow.

Paged row or Grid

Native mode offers two layouts, and the whole block can be aligned left, centre or right.

Manually added review

You can also enter a real, existing review manually in the editor. Do not use this to create fictional endorsements.

Widget mode

Set third-party embed code, height from 120 to 2000 px and alignment. The code runs inside an isolated sandboxed iframe.

Place reviews where they answer a real doubt

For a local service business, a natural position may be between the service explanation and contact section. Reviews are strongest when they sit close to the specific claim or uncertainty they help support.

TRUST FROM AN EXTERNAL SOURCE

Show the review while keeping its source unmistakably clear.

Use a real Google location or approved widget, and place reviews near the claim they genuinely support.
