Tags block

What is the Tags block for?

Connect content with a small set of short, consistent topics. Tags are useful when someone reading a page or article may naturally want to continue to a related topic. A tag can be a real link, or it can stay as a simple text label without a URL.

Do not build your main navigation out of tags. Tags should express relationships, not the entire site hierarchy.

Do not tag everything with everything. A small set of recurring topics helps people browse; a long list of overlapping synonyms only adds noise. Add a URL to make a tag clickable. Leave the URL empty to keep it as a simple text label.

What can you configure in the Tags block?

The content is simple, but three distinct styles let tags play different visual roles.

Pill

A soft, button-like tag. Good for clickable related topics and an easy-to-notice tag row.

Outlined

A sharper outlined tag with more graphic character. It also works well as a non-clickable text label.

Underline

A quieter, editorial link treatment when you do not want the tags to feel like buttons.

Alignment

Align the whole tag row left, centre or right.

Link or text label

With a URL, the tag is clickable. Without one, it stays outside the focus order as plain text.

Background and width

Give the block its own background and choose section width plus Reading, Wide or Full content width.

RELATED CONTENT IN ONE ROW

A good tag is short, consistent and only clickable when it genuinely leads somewhere.

Use a small set of recurring topics and choose pill, outlined or underlined styling to match the visual weight you need.
