Site identity: name, tagline, logo and favicon

What can you set under Site identity?

Make the website recognisable everywhere, from the browser tab to search results. Set the basics under Settings → Website → Site identity: website name, tagline, logo and favicon. These details are reused in several places across the site, so it is worth getting them right early.

Four fields, used in many places

What each one does and where it appears.

Website name

Used in the browser title, search results through the SEO title pattern, and in the header when no logo image is set. One to three words usually works best.

Tagline

A short sentence explaining what you do. Some header and footer layouts show it beside or below the site name.

Logo

Shown in the header and footer, beside or instead of the website name. SVG or a transparent PNG usually works best.

Favicon

The small icon used in browser tabs and bookmarks. Use a square PNG of at least 32 × 32 pixels.

Website name and tagline

Keep the website name short — usually one to three words, typically your business or brand name. It fills the {site_name} placeholder in the SEO title pattern, so a page might appear in search as “Pricing – Demona”.

The tagline is a single-sentence introduction shown under or near the name in layouts that support it. Treat it as a concise answer to two questions: what do you do, and who is it for?

The header and footer can also have their own logo text. If you leave that blank, the website name is used there too.

Logo and favicon

Choose both from the media library or upload new files.

  • Logo: an SVG or transparent PNG usually works best so it stays clean on different header and footer backgrounds. Once set, it can be used in both places.
  • Favicon: use a square PNG of at least 32 × 32 pixels. A simple mark or monogram is often clearer at that size than a full wordmark.

Add a short ALT text to each image. For a logo, the business name is usually enough. Screen-reader users hear this text instead of the image.
