FAQ block

What is the FAQ block for?

Start with what visitors actually ask, not what you still want to say. An FAQ works best when it resolves real uncertainty before a decision: pricing, process, compatibility, delivery, guarantees, cancellation, technical requirements or anything else that naturally comes up.

Avoid turning marketing claims into fake questions just to create another feature list.

Frequently asked questions

Short, direct answers to the questions that come up most often.

  • When the same specific questions repeatedly come up before visitors are ready to decide.

Write the question the way a customer would ask it. “How can I pay?” often feels more natural than “Which payment arrangements are available?”.

What can you configure in the FAQ block?

Beyond the questions themselves: the layout, search, numbering and colours.

Layout

Pick one of seven layouts: Classic, Cards, Two columns, Grid, Large numbers, Conversation and Featured question. A new block starts as Cards.

Search

Turn search on or off; it works in every layout. It searches the question text and is especially useful on longer lists.

Search copy

Set your own placeholder text and no-results message for the searchable version.

Featured question

In the Featured question layout one question and its answer get a card of their own. You mark which one in the panel; if none is marked, the first is used.

Questions shown at first

In the Conversation layout you choose how many question–answer pairs show at first (1–20, 3 by default). The rest wait behind a “More questions” button.

Numbering

Questions can be numbered 01, 02 and so on, keeping their original numbers while searching. Large numbers always numbers them; Conversation never does.

Colours

Row background, text and border colours apply where the layout draws boxes. The featured card and the question bubbles can be Accent, Dark or Custom, and the text colour follows automatically.

Answer and icon

Answers support formatted text, and each question can optionally have an icon.

Structured data

Every layout keeps every question and answer on the page, so search engines get the same FAQPage structured data whichever layout you pick.

Seven layouts, the same questions

In the FAQ block's panel, Layout decides how the questions are laid out. Switching layouts keeps every question and answer; only the arrangement changes. A newly inserted FAQ block starts as Cards, and blocks you built earlier stay Classic, exactly as they looked before.

  • Classic: rows between hairlines. This is the only layout where you choose the row frame (Divider, Outline or None).
  • Cards: each question a rounded card, the open one raised. The searchable FAQ above uses it.
  • Two columns: the heading and subheading on the left, the questions on the right.
  • Grid: every answer open, in a grid of cards.
  • Large numbers: a large number beside each question. On a dark background it becomes a dark band.
  • Conversation: chat bubbles with the site answering. You choose how many pairs show at first.
  • Featured question: one question and its answer on a card of their own, the others beside it.

Search engines see the same thing whichever you pick. Every layout keeps every question and answer on the page, even when an answer is folded or the Conversation layout puts some behind a button, so the page's FAQPage structured data is the same in every layout.

Below is a live example of each of the other layouts, using the questions of a made-up bike repair shop. Classic is further down, in the “Example: before booking a service” block.

Two columns

The heading and subheading on the left, the questions on the right. On a phone they stack.

  • Not for small repairs: bring the bike in any time we're open. For a full service, book about a week ahead.

Grid

Every answer open, in a grid of cards. Good for short answers worth seeing without a click.

Where can I park?

There are two spaces in front of the shop and paid street parking round the corner.

Can I pay by card?

Yes: card, phone or cash.

Is the repair guaranteed?

We guarantee both the parts we fit and the work for six months.

Can I borrow a bike while mine is in?

During a full service, yes, while stocks last. Ask when you book.

Large numbers

A large number beside each question, the heading beside the list. This example has a dark background, so it reads as a dark band.

  • Clean if possible, and bring the lock key if the lock stays on the bike.

Conversation

Questions and answers as chat bubbles, with the site answering. Here the first 3 pairs show and the rest wait behind “More questions”.

  • Are you open on Saturdays?

Yes, from 9 am to 1 pm.

  • Can I bring my own parts?

You can, and we'll fit them. In that case the guarantee covers the work only.

  • Do you fix children's bikes?

Of course: everything from balance bikes to adult sizes.

Featured question

One question and its answer on a card of their own, the others beside it. Here the card is Dark; by default it takes the Accent colour.

The most asked question

How much is the spring full service?

HUF 24,900 for city and touring bikes, parts extra. It includes a full check-up, brake and gear adjustment and a chain clean.

More questions

Where should the questions come from?

Look at support emails, sales conversations, enquiries and the points where prospects repeatedly ask for clarification. The strongest FAQ does not invent questions; it collects them from real customer situations.

FAQ in a real decision journey

For a service, the most useful questions are the ones people ask before they commit.

The format can stay the same, but the questions should come from the moment where the prospect still has uncertainty.

Example: before booking a service

Questions that come up before an enquiry or booking can remove unnecessary uncertainty.

REMOVE THE UNCERTAINTY

A good FAQ is not more content. It is fewer unanswered questions.

Adapt the questions, search, numbering and visual treatment to the decision visitors are trying to make.
